Home Goods Leaner Mirror: To Keep or Return?

I set aside $100 of my Christmas money to spend on a big, tall leaner mirror for our bedroom.  The last time I was in Home Goods they had quite a selection of mirrors to choose from.  I was so happy because all of the other leaner mirrors I had come across were soooooo expensive.  Like, $250 and up.  This one was $99 and it's 79"x30".  Now, even though that's a good bit of mirror for the price, I'm still not convinced that it's the one.  It was such a good deal that I kind of just got it thinking that I'd probably regret it if I didn't.

Here it is in the space:

Some how it still looks dinky to me.  That corner area is just a little bigger than I thought it would be.  Maybe I'm just being picky, but I think I'd really love it if it were about 3-5 inches wider or at least had a thicker frame.

It was such an ordeal just to get it to our house that I'm dreading returning it if that's what I decide to do.  I think if I do return it, then I'll just wait to get a Songe mirror when I make a trip to Ikea for playroom stuff.

That mirror is 77"x35" and it's also $99.  I think I'd have to do something about that silver frame though.

I still have a couple weeks to decide if I want the Home Goods mirror, and I might try a couple different things to make it look a little more grounded in our room.

Thoughts?

Hope you're having a great Thursday!

I love big mirrors also and I really love huge frames. They make all the difference. If you aren't happy, just keep looking, something will turn up, and HG has tons of mirrors coming in all the time. Hugs, marty

I think it's really cute but if you don't love it then don't keep it!
Otherwise you'll just keep looking at it and thinking .... could have done better?

You just always LOVE each addition to your home :)

I think you are right - it looks a little small for the space. Or, maybe it's just that the white frame seems "lost" among all the other things that are white? A darker frame might make it stand out more.

I love the mirror from Home Goods. I have seen it in person and it has almost come home with me a few times (I just don't have anywhere for it to go). However, if you don't love it, don't keep it just because it's a great deal.

I think that mirror is great, it just needs to be hanging! The only suggestion I would have to making the corner maybe appear less spacious would be a plant, basket, or something similar in the corner there. But I'm not sure, it depends on how it would fit with the rest of the room.

I think the mirror looks too small for the space.

I saw on pinterest this a.m. a salvaged door tuned into a mirror....can't get the link to post, but thought it would be nice with the space.

Hi!

I found your blog through a glass jug lamp post at Remodelaholics, an idea which I absolutely love by the way!

Will be coming back again :)

I really like the HomeGoods mirror but I agree that it does look a little small for that space. If it was the same look but with a thicker frame it would be perfect.

Good luck with your mirror hunt!
